CPU Benchmarks
Without further ado, below are the much-awaited benchmarks, with the MSM8960 development platform featuring Android 4.0.3, a 1.5GHz clock, 1GB LPDDR2 RAM and a 1,024 x 600 display:
The closest competition is the Samsung Galaxy S II's Exynos 4210, which features a dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 at 1.2GHz and an ARM Mali-400 MP4 GPU; however, stating 'competition' may be jumping the gun a little, as the Snapdragon S4 SoC blows the chip out of the water, offering almost 2.5x the performance in multi-threaded benchmarks.
Bearing in mind that the MSM8960 device features the improved Android 4.0.3 web-browser, we see a smaller gap when comparing to similar Android 4.0 devices such as the Galaxy Nexus, however still a significant improvement.
