Easily create outstanding promotional materials for your business, charity or club with incredibly professional tools in PagePlus X8 - the powerful, yet affordable desktop publisher from award-winning creative software developer, Serif.
PagePlus X8 gives people with normal office software skills everything they need to create and print first-class marketing materials and stationery, such as flyers, menus, newsletters and signs, plus produce business plans and other formal documents, make interactive multimedia brochures, and publish eBooks - all for just £89.99. Users can also add their own logos, colour schemes, text and imagery using the dedicated logo designer and photo editing lab.
"PagePlus has set the standard in desktop publishing for the last decade and our latest publisher is no exception," says Ashley Hewson, Managing Director at Serif. "It is often regarded as the best desktop publisher for businesses and individuals, with over 95% of our customers saying they would recommend it to family or friends. The latest version continues to be the most effective and affordable way for small businesses, charities and clubs everywhere to quickly and easily produce a whole range of attractive digital and print communications."
"PagePlus X8's flexibility and rich design capabilities means organisations can use it to design just about anything either from scratch or from using the wealth of ready-made templates on offer. People new to desktop publishing will appreciate the intuitive tools and plentiful help on offer, while everyone including experienced designers can benefit from PagePlus' higher quality output, more advanced desktop publishing features, and increased ease-of-use and efficiency."
New features include a Baseline Grid which ensures all text is aligned across different columns and frames, even if text is different sizes. Text columns and frame margins can automatically flip sides too, so facing pages are mirrored for a consistent, professional look. PagePlus X8 also supports the new EPUB 3 standard to ensure that layouts remain intact when viewing on tablets or other modern devices. Blank and themed layout templates make it easy to choose document sizes that suit gadgets like iPads, Kindles and Nexus tablets.
In addition to full PDF editing, users can save files in the modern PDF/X-3 standard, favoured by print shops and publishers, or save as a smaller PDF for use on websites and sharing. Plus, for the first time in PagePlus, designers can import PDFs as an image to keep all text, graphics and layouts intact - ideal for placing adverts in newsletters and magazines.
Brand new additions to the PhotoLab ensure users can edit imagery without having to leave the program. The new Vibrance, Split Tone and Clarity filters give users greater control over colour, light and contrast while the Tilt Shift adds creative blurring and miniaturising effects. Users can also repair classic photos with the improved Clone Tool to brush over marks and creases and remove unwanted objects, while a new Gradient Mask lets users add more depth and style to pictures.
There is also now the option to replace specific colours across entire publications in just a couple of clicks, plus users can also choose from 84 new, professionally-selected colours from an updated Pantone® PLUS palette. Users can also pick colours more easily from imported images to build up a bespoke colour palette and maintain colour consistency throughout documents. PagePlus also now features CMYK colours even on filter effects such as drop shadows, which are ideal for more accurate single colour print runs.
Other new features include autocorrect hyperlink enhancements, which helps users take advantage of multi-word autocorrect and style hyperlinks however they choose. The program also has new High DPI support, which means the workspace is clearer and easier to view on larger and high-resolution screens. A new gallery pop-up allows users to insert multiple images in any order for greater efficiency, plus users can enjoy a selection of new filters including the Trail effect that adds retro motion blurs. Users can choose from a comprehensive gallery of fully customisable table and calendar styles, plus scan imagery when using 64 or 32-bit scanning software.
PagePlus X8 is compatible with Windows 8, 7, Vista and XP, and retails at £89.99 (inc. VAT). It is available directly from Serif at www.serif.com/pageplus. Existing Serif Software users should contact 0800 376 7070 for further information on upgrade pricing.
