PRESS RELEASE

- Program Deactivator enhancesperformance and, for the first time, Economy Mode extends the battery life of laptop PCs, notebooks and tablet PCs -

Darmstadt, 14th October 2011 - TuneUp Utilities 2012, the PC optimisation suite, is gearing up to give Windows PCs and laptops a dual performance boost with a new Economy Mode aimed at extending battery life by up to 30 per cent*, while the new automated start-stop feature of Program Deactivator enables faster working for PCs by reducing the burden placed on them by unused programs.

The new features will launch as part of the latest version TuneUp Utilities 2012, which is available in stores from today, and will enable PC users to work faster, for longer by conserving energy for when it is needed most, and reducing the clutter of programs which are no longer in use.

Other highlights in TuneUp Utilities 2012 include 1-Click Maintenance, the one-click solution for solving registry errors, removing unneeded data such as temporary files and defragmenting the hard disk.

"We're always seeking feedback from our users to understand how we can help them to maximise the performance of their PC," said Christoph Laumann, Managing Director of TuneUp. "The challenge for us is to find a way to put the suggestions we receive to the best possible use. However, with TuneUp Utilities 2012, and its new features, we're really confident that we've succeeded in meeting people's expectations."

"Users told us that they wanted a longer battery life time on their laptop PCs, notebooks and Tablet PCs, and that they had installed software which is sapping their PC's performance when it was not in use. The new Economy Mode and Program Deactivator have been designed specifically to meet this demand, and we're confident that this version of TuneUp Utilities is the best yet."

TuneUp Utilities 2012 supports Windows 7, Vista, and XP, in both 32- and 64-bit versions and is available for download at www.tuneup-software.co.uk and at selected retail outlets at the suggested retail price of £29.99. Users of previous versions can upgrade to TuneUp Utilities 2012 at the preferential price of just £17.99. A free 15-day trial version is also available for download at www.tuneup-software.co.uk.
