Forthcoming launch announced at VMworld 2011
Bitdefender, an award-winning provider of innovative internet security solutions, has announced its new solution, Security for Virtualised Environments by Bitdefender. The product offers a comprehensive security solution for virtualised datacenters, integrating VMware vShieldTM to protect Windows servers and desktops, as well as Linux and Solaris systems.
To address the growing business challenge of securing virtualised systems, Bitdefender Security for Virtualised Environments offers key benefits including reduced system demands with increased threat protection.
Defends with VMware environments and any other virtualisation technology. When installed in VMware environments, Security for Virtualised Environments by Bitdefender takes advantage of VMware vShield EndpointTM. The solution architecture also defends Linux and Solaris systems, and environments powered by any system virtualisation technology.
Centralised scanning functions. Using unique product architecture, many scanning functions are centralised and deduplicated on a hardened Linux-based virtual appliance. This allows the solution to reduce system demand associated with updates, management and scanning. Centralised scanning also eliminates issues with boot time security gaps.
Number-one-ranked security technology. All Bitdefender solutions include B-HAVE, a patent-pending technology which from the security virtual appliance analyses the behavior of potentially malicious code inside a virtual machine, eliminating false positives and significantly increasing detection rates for new and unknown malware. Bitdefender received a Virus Bulletin VB100 award with the highest final score in February 2011 for its malware detection capabilities, and Bitdefender technology has been number-one-ranked in the last two AV-TEST Product Reviews (http://www.av-test.org/certifications) making it #1 in protection against e-threats in 2011.
