Expert-led technology sessions at ATI's GDC booth focus on open development tools and techniques to elevate gaming to a whole new level

Game Developers Conference, booth #827, San Jose, CA -March 5, 2003 - ATI Technologies Inc. (TSX:ATY, NASDAQ:ATYT) will host technology sessions on open development tools, gaming and 3D graphics at this year's Game Developers Conference which opens today in San Jose, California. Industry experts, including professionals from Alias|Wavefront, Buka, CryTek, Intrinsic, Microsoft, Right Hemisphere, Wild Tangent and 1C Company, will speak from ATI's booth (booth #827) covering such topics as higher level shader languages, shader builder tools and bridging the gap between offline and real-time rendering. ATI itself will discuss Microsoft's high-level shader language (HLSL).

ATI will also showcase several exciting new game titles at its booth including Unreal II from Infogrames, Command & Conquer Generals from Electronic Arts, Square's Final Fantasy XI, Will Rock from Ubi Soft and Perimeter from 1C Company.

"As we're still effectively the only source of DirectX® 9 graphics hardware, it's natural that people should come to our booth to teach, discuss and learn about the most advanced shader tools," said Rick Bergman, Senior VP, Marketing, at ATI and General Manager of the company's desktop division. "As well as promoting HLSL and other collaborative industry initiatives, we're also demonstrating how companies working together can improve the situation for game developers and their customers - the players.
