PRESS RELEASE

  • The new imageFORMULA DR-M160 boosts productivity with class-leading colour scanning speeds of up to 120 images per minute
  • Incorporates heavy-duty feed rollers and a solid paper transport for unrivalled paper-handling reliability
  • Separation retry system ensures seamless operation and productivity by minimising user intervention

United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, 5th  September, 2011 - Canon, world-leader in imaging solutions, has today launched its most powerful compact desktop scanner - the imageFORMULA DR-M160 - for demanding business environments that require a fast, high-quality and reliable  scanning solution.

The imageFORMULA DR-M160 document scanner enables users to be more productive, with impressive duplex scanning speeds of up to 120 images per minute at 300dpi. This makes it ideal for batch capturing environments that require fast accurate data extraction and document processing solution.

Unique for a device of its size, the imageFORMULA DR-M160 is built with a robust design that incorporates heavy duty feed rollers and a solid paper transport. These features mean that it is extremely dependable and able to take on heavy workloads at peak times with ease.

With a large capacity 60-sheet document feeder that reliably separates paper; mixed batched documents of different sizes can be quickly and accurately processed. The imageFORMULA DR-M160 is extremely versatile across many business applications. It is capable of scanning a wide variety of document types - including thick and thin sheets, embossed cards, and long documents up to 3m in length.

For seamless operation, the imageFORMULA DR-M160 features an intelligent separation retry function. This automatically returns any documents to the input tray for re-scanning, where the device detects that more than one sheet has been processed at a time. Additionally, the double feed release button allows the operator to bypass the double feed detection as required and continue scanning - for example when scanning an envelope.

Amanda Recknell, Product Manager, Professional imageFORMULA Scanners says, "Many organisations are now looking to implement a more de-centralised approach to scanning, to immediately capture critical business documents straight from an employee's desk into their digital workflows. The launch of our flagship A4 desktop scanner - the imageFORMULA DR-M160 - offers unrivalled reliability and productivity through its robust yet compact design, enabling organisations become more efficient in the way they work."

The device is bundled with a suite of professional software* that offers powerful tools for business document processing, including quick connectivity to SharePoint, and can save files to PDF-A for long-term archiving.

Pricing and Availability

The imageFORMULA DR-M160 is available from September 2011 priced at £1144.00 / €1295.00 RRP incl. VAT.
