Not so lonely planet

Vodafone UK customers will now be able to access travel information from Lonely Planet through Telmap's mobile search, navigation and mapping services.

Telmap provides white label, hosted and managed search, mapping and navigation solutions to mobile operators, designed to provide location-related content such as traffic, speed cameras and information about landmarks.

It will now tap into Lonely Planet's information, which covers thousands of destinations plus over 800 cities and regions in 150 countries to boost its location-based proposition.

The partnership first launched its joint venture via O2 Germany and in South Africa in July and plans to roll out its service to other markets in ‘the near future'

"We look forward to continuing to support Vodafone in providing its subscribers with access to a wealth of localised, valuable search, mapping and navigation travel information accessible on the move and delivered through Vodafone's network," said Motti Kushnir, CMO of Telmap.
