Same old Tetris

So far I've focused mainly on the negative, but it's not all bad news. If you have had your fill of Tetris over the years, or are just bored playing on your own, then Xbox live is where the game really opens up. There are one-on-one ranked matches where you can compete on the world-wide leader-boards and the challenge is far more exciting then single-player, mainly due to the fact that you can see your opponent's matrix and can see how far behind or in front of them you are. You can also create custom matches, allowing you to fiddle around with numerous settings to make a challenge more difficult or slightly more appealing than a standard game. Xbox live and the multiplayer modes are certainly the highlight of an otherwise standard game of Tetris.

I've given Tetris Evolution a fair crack of the whip, testing out all the game modes and jumping onto Xbox live for a bit of multiplayer action, but the evolution of Tetris it certainly isn't. If you're a fan of Tetris, then it does what is says on the tin and you'll still enjoy it. If you're expecting a totally new experience then you'll be sorely disappointed. Tetris Evolution would have made a decent Xbox live arcade game, but unless you're nuts about the game, I find it hard to recommend.

What?! A full release game? TBH I never saw the obsession with tetris, found it a very boring game. This better cost a tenner, otherwise whoever made/published this is insane.

It's £20, really not worth it unless you're a huge tetris fan and you fancy a bit of multiplayer.
