1000 Sq Km of world to explore

What’s it about?
The sequel to Avalanche Studio’s open-world action adventure sees the return of Rico Rodriguez as he’s dropped on the South East Asian island of Panau in the middle of a civil war where three warring factions are battling against the government for control of the island.

With 1,000 sq km of land, air and sea to explore on foot and in a range of vehicles, from a motorbike to a Boeing 737, the island hides dozens of enemy strongholds, unlockable weapons, upgrades, and secret easter eggs for you to discover.

There are hundreds of missions and side objectives to choose from, combining vehicle and combat based gameplay, and you can choose to side with factions to carry out objectives on their behalf, or you can stick with the main mission of searching for a rogue agent.

Just Cause 2 involves a lot of fierce fighting against factions and government armies, so inevitably you find yourself blowing a lot of stuff up. New to the sequel is the Chaos metre which awards you for the amount of destruction you can cause on the island. The more chaos you cause the better weapons and vehicles you get, plus the more missions you unlock. Once again, Just Cause is not just about following the main storyline, there's also the opportunity to create your own stunts, using your grappling hook, vehicles, parachute, and the environment to do crazy things such as surf on the top of an aeroplane or hijack a helicopter in mid-air.
