Jet-pack infused mayhem

Version played - Xbox 360

What is Section 8?
Section 8 is a sci-fi themed, class-based, first person shooter from TimeGate Studios that features big guns and large scale battles against a variety of alien invaders. As part of the elite 8th Armored Infantry, you’re sent from Earth to defend mankind in a mechanized suit equipped with a range of futuristic weaponry and a handy jet-pack, which is ideal for sniffing out sniper points, evading enemy gun-fire and executing vertical attacks. The objective-based gameplay revolves around capturing enemy bases and defending areas from invasion. In addition to having access to a range of weaponry you can also utilise the services of a range of high-powered vehicles to tip the battle in your favour, including the likes of heavy tanks.

The short single campaign is just a taster for the meaty online component, which hosts 32 players across eight huge maps.

Key Features

Online multiplayer - Hosts 32 players across 8 maps and features a Conquest mode where players vie to complete objectives and control parts of the map. Players can run X-server on their PC’s and host a dedicated server

Drop-in anywhere on the map - You can jump onto the map at any spot by being “burned in”. In Lamen's terms that means you get chucked out of your dropship and hurtle down to earth at high speeds. You can steer your jet-pack to wherever you want to on the map and if you happen to land directly on the top of an enemy you gain an instant kill.

Customisation - You can customise a lot of stuff, such as tweaking weapon load-outs and adding bots or passive modules to your armour, such as medic kits or mortars.

Vehicles - Deploy vehicles anywhere on the map and they’ll be delivered right to your doorstep by dropship
