Conclusion

Yakuza 4 is once again another solid entry in the series, yet it still has a very niche appeal. Fans of the series will no doubt love the addition of three new characters, the return of the brutal combat system and the extension to the city, while others will probably wonder why anyone would want to play such a dull Karoke mini-game, or most of the mini-games in fact. Whether you enjoy Yakuza 4 or not is going to be down to personal preference and whether you're happy to sit through a subtitled storyline. Even if you are just fan of fighting games though, the satisfying, violent punch-ups should be more than enough to keep you entertained. And, with a zombie invasion planned for the next Yakuza game, this could be the last time to experience the series in its purest form. Go get a foot massage, you know you want to.
