... leads to Crazy mode!

Now, just to keep you interested, all of the races can be driven in sequence in a set of either bronze, silver or gold cups, which you’ll have to win to unlock the crazy mode, where the skills you’ve learnt will come to the fore.

Crazy mode is a straight race section over very short courses, but the twist here is that you have to complete the race 16 times, each time finishing a place higher than last time. So for the first race you have to beat the 16th place car, then for the second race you beat the 15th place car and so on. Now, these are very quick races of around 30 second a lap max, but the trick Nadeo have played on you here is that you have a set time limit to complete ALL the races… That is, you not only have to come a place higher each race, but you have to do all 16 races within a time limit. Fluff up a 15 second race and finish lower than you should and that’s 15 seconds of your total allowance for the series… and there’s checkpoints on each race so you’ve no option but to hare around like a loon and get across the line even if you’ve scuppered it so badly you know you’ll finish last.

Believe me, these are well worth getting into as they’re nothing but manic dashes across the line and utter, utter mayhem. What would’ve been nice is for inter-car collision to have been turned on for these and the time limits relaxed a little as with 16 cars on the track and, as you progress through the races, your own previous efforts running as ghost cars too, the tracks become an absolute bedlam of machines all hurtling around every which way… superb stuff!
