Following on from yesterday's announcement, Infinity Ward community manager Robert Bowling has today shared the finer details of the upcoming Resurgence map pack for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
Speaking in an interview with Microsoft's Xbox Live director of programming Larry Hyrb, Bowling revealed that the Resurgence Pack will follow in the footsteps of March's hugely-popular Stimulus Package.
Containing five maps - three of which entirely new and two of which are ported from the first Modern Warfare title, Call of Duty 4 - the Resurgence Pack will be priced at 1,200 Microsoft Points (roughly £10) and will raise the total number of available maps to 26.
The trio of new maps are described briefly as follows:
- Carnival: a fairly-big "desolated amusement park".
- Trailer Park: a run-and-gun map ideal for HQ players, features "super tight corridors" and is described as "a maze to get through".
- Fuel: an oil refinery that's said to function as "another sniper haven".
Joining the new playing fields are two classics ported from the first Modern Warfare; Vacant and Strike. According to Bowling, the revisited maps feature "really cool details that we changed", as well as "new visuals, new atmosphere and a lot more detail".
The Resurgence Pack will be made available to Xbox 360 gamers on Thursday June 3rd, and will be sandwiched between back-to-back Double XP weekends on Friday May 28th and Friday June 4th. PC and PlayStation 3 gamers will receive the map pack at a later date.
