Those of a certain age will remember with great fondness the awesome N64 first person shooter, GoldenEye 007, a game that is still talked about today as being such an important title in videogame history.

Well, rumour has it that GoldenEye 2010 is in the works. An animator from Eurocom, who were recently involved with the development of Quatum of Solace, has claimed on his online CV that he is working on the title. Eagle-eyed Internet surfers spotted the leaked information and since the news has travelled around gaming circles, the Eurocom employee's CV has been taken offline.

It's not enough evidence to confirm the existence of a GoldenEye remake, but we can all still live in hope. It may not be that great anyhow if the last GoldenEye game, GoldenEye: Rogue Agent, is anything to go by.

even if its false, that remake on steam is very passable apart from people favouring huge maps :|
A game originally published by Nintendo made by a studio now owned by Microsoft based on film rights aqquired from a pre Sony merger MGM at a time when a now Sony backed MGM is in such financial trouble it's being courted by Fox….

Not to sound deliberately cynical, but I'll eat my shoes if it happens and the socks as well if it's actually any good.

For the forseeable future unless like me you want to haul the N64 back outta the cupboard I think Goldeneye: Source is about as close as we're ever going to get to a remake :(

There is a reason Perfect Dark is coming to the XBLA and not Goldeneye…….

I reckon if anything it will be like the EA games, not Rare
I quite enjoyed rogue agent - nothing special but playable.

I do fear a goldeneye remake though - its never going to be as good and will only spoil good memories.
Im in two minds, on one hand quite excited (if its even made) but then on the other i agree with cheesemp, in that it might ruin all those great memories on the N64
