SWOS (Xbox 360) not working online

We've waited so long for Sensible World of Soccer on Xbox live and we've been looking forward to reliving those glory days with friends online, but there's one slight problem: You can't get online! Well, not yet anyhow (10.10am GMT).

First up I thought it might just be my connection, but now further reports are trickling in that other people can't get online with the soccer game either. It just disconnects you from XBL.

We've contacted Codemasters Online and we're currently awaiting to find out what the issue is and when it will be fixed.

If you've had problems, or if you've connected with no problems at all, please let us know in the forums.

UPDATE: They are aware of the issue. As of 3.30pm GMT the game has been removed from the Xbox live marketplace. We'll have more details as soon as possible.

UPDATED: It has come to our attention that an incorrect version of Sensible World of Soccer was made available on Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft which has since been taken down. This version incorrectly disconnected users that attempted to connect to Xbox LIVE.

We are currently investigating the issue and will have a correctly functioning version of Sensible World of Soccer available soon.

Any users that have already downloaded Sensible World of Soccer will need to delete their copy of the game and download it again when the correctly functioning version is available in order to enjoy online play via Xbox LIVE. Following this process does not incur any additional charges.

I find it so frustrating when games launch and have huge crippling faults. Just not good enough. Have Codemasters issued an apology yet? Their customers have been waiting ages for this and are gonna be very disappointed.

Waiting for a reply from them, but I'd guess that it's probably not a fault their end. I reckon this will be sorted out real quick.

Not good and it isnt funny to mock Lee - so go back to your pink marigolds ;)

I am sure this will also be resolved shortly although its not ideal as this game as already been delayed for months so all the major bugs like this should have been ironed out.
It must be a minor issue, its been running on the ‘partnernet’ xbox live okay apparently (thats the one testers/reviewers etc get to use it on).

apart from that is it okay?
