Bus driver sacked for playing GTA

A Lancashire bus driver has been sacked from his position for playing his Sony PSP whilst carrying passengers on a busy route.

One passenger commented: "He was playing a Grand Theft Auto game and the screams of the characters being shot could be heard all around the bus."I find it hard to believe that anyone driving a car with a PSP on their knee would be considered a safe driver - doubly so a person in charge of a singledecker bus capable of carrying 40 to 50 passengers."

The conditions on the route from Accrington to Blackburn were said be dangerous and icy.

The Managing Director of transport, Michael Morton said, " "We take a very dim view of drivers using any sort of device that will distract them from their job. All we are able to say in any of these cases is we feel that the appropriate disciplinary action has been taken."

I should think so as well! If you're going to use your PSP whilst driving a bus, at least turn the sound off.

Reminds me of the south park episode about the Golden PSP. Is that not how kenny died in a south park episode? By someone playing a PSP while driving.

Makes me laugh how someone is stupid enough to actually do that. Oh well, as no one got hurt, I can laugh and smile at that. :)
Unfortunately, in Metro this morning, the story was spun to villianise the game and the PSP as well as the idiot ex-driver.

This was made worse by a little inset next to it warning that the 7 legions of Hell would rise up and bring great terror and suffering to the world because the violent game ‘Gangs of London’ is to be released soon. Won't somebody think of the children?
