Virtua Fighter 5 is hoping to elevate the arcade fighting genre to all new heights as the game promises to take true advantage of the capabilities of the next generation hardware. Virtua Fighter 5 raises the bar for console fighting games including all the features fans know and love plus enhanced gameplay mechanics, additional characters and new fighting styles, as well as newly redesigned 3D environments.

Virtua Fighter 5 is currently set for a spring 2007 release. Check out these new screenshots:

Hopefully this will be available for the PS3 launch (if it comes out in march anyway…)

Seen a nice video of this last night, 3 2-round fights, characters looked nice, backgrounds were good. Looks a bit sharper and cleaner than DoA4, but the gameplay isnt as fast. Hopefully its less of a button masher than DoA.

it does not look like much of an improvement over the ps2

Those pics look about 50 times worse than the video, they really dont come close. Find a vid.
