Classic top-down shooter with a twist
California-based developer, Niki Games has announced the development of Novastrike, a brand new IP that will be made downloadable via the Playstation Network shortly. The gameplay of Novastrike is said to be similar to the frantic pace of the classic top-down shooter, albeit with a few innovative touches here and there. There’ll also be continued updates and content additions throughout the game’s life cycle.
Novastrike is said to appeal to hardened shooter veterans and puts players in a sci-fi war zone against an onslaught by the world-conquering Draelus. From the cockpit of your experimental Scythe fighter, able pilots will utilise free-roaming flight and multiple weapon variations to combat an armada of alien forces in the air and on land. With ship and weapon upgrades, and a slew of allied units, players of Novastrike will engage the Draelus in a variety of planetary environments, completing objectives and facing opponents in their fight to drive back the invasion.
Included in the game’s features will be seven stages, driven by objective-based goals and free-roaming flight, so players can explore the environment and fly in any direction.
Novastrike will support the DualShock 3 controller and should be made available within the next month on the Playstation Network.
