New and existing IP set for PS3

NCSoft North America president Chris Chung has confirmed that the company are planning to port some of their major PC franchises across to the next-gen consoles, in addition to launching a brand new IP that will showcased later this year.

In an interview with 1up, Chung didn't reveal details on the new franchise, but he did say that NCSoft will have a working build to show off in the second half of 2008."We are working hard internally to have something to not only announce but to show off," he said.

The company are also looking at which games out of their current PC range could be converted across to the PS3. Their current line-up includes Tabula Rasa, the Lineage franchise, the Guild Wars series and City of Heroes.

Sadly, Xbox 360 gamers will be left in the cold if any of these titles do get the green light. During Sony's E3 2007 keynote in 2007, President and CEO Jack Tretton announced a partnership with NcSoft that will see them developing exclusive online titles for the Playstation 3 and its Playstation Network.

Another point of interest that Chung was keen to talk about in the interview was that of better customer service from his company in 2008. "We're going to introduce a lot of new services that will make it easier for people to start playing games right away and make them have easier connections to the people and friends that they play with," he told the website.
