A group of students have won a prize at Dare to be Digital thanks to their efforts in creating a new prototype game for the DS, that draws from aspects of other successful titles.
The prototype, called 'Metalheads' is referred to by the development team's leader as "almost a merging of Pikmin, Lemmings, Abe's Oddysee and Flashback."
The game development process proved slightly troublesome for the team, given that they had no access to a DS dev kit. This meant they had to use a PC, with a tablet acting as the touch screen input. Despite the hurdles, the protoype has won the 'most marketing potential' award at Dare to be Digital.
