Due for release in Japan on July 24th, the Opera web browser should be yet another incentive to rush out and buy the Nintendo DS.

Unfortunately, there is no word on when or if Europe and the U.S will get to enjoy the new function, but Opera have opened a mini site dedicated to the Opera browser for both the DS and Wii for us to browse through whilst we wait.

Thw website details a few tips and tricks for the DS, along with screenshots from the Opera interface.

In an interview with Cubed3.com back in June, Opera Vice President. Scott Hendrick. confirmed that the Opera browser will also be available on their next-gen console from day one. Hendrick also confirmed that Opera will be integrated into Wii, and that there are no plans to include advertising within the user interface.

“For Opera desktop users, surfing on the Wii will be a very familiar experience. Opera will be integrating its unique rendering technologies to compensate for the lower resolution of TVs and the added distance of the user from the TV screen [...] For example, fonts will be larger and the user interface will be simplified so that the Web is easier to view and use from a distance while navigating with the Wii remote.
