The judged ruled in favour of French company, Divineo Group, in a major court battle in Paris, Max Console reports. Though the court papers haven't officially been released, Max Console suggests that part of the reason why Divineo won was because the judge disagreed with the fact that Nintendo purposely lock out developers from their consoles.
Though this is a significant ruling for manufacturers and sellers of the flash cards, who'll see this is a major victory, it certainly doesn't mean that other judges will rule the same way. They'll be many cases of Nintendo taking Flash card makers to court over the next few years and they'll be hoping to at least stem piracy, which has been a major problem for the company ever since Nintendo DS launched in 2005.
