Critically acclaimed fighter makes debut on DS

Ubisoft has confirmed that they will be releasing its critically acclaimed Temco's Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword for Nintendo DS across Europe in June 2008.

Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword is the first iteration in the series to be made for the Nintendo DS and offers a new story coupled with the traditional fast-paced action that the franchise is known for. Playing it on the handheld of course means that you need to use the Stylus and Ryu Hayabusa’s combat moves are mapped onto the DS touchscreen and directional buttons which allows him to run, jump, attack and cast Ninpo. Certain move combinations will enable Ryu to perform fatal special attacks such as the Izuna Drop and Cicada Slash which are some of Ryu’s signature moves.

The title, which was released last month in North America and Japan, received largely positive reviews with an 84% average score on Metacritic.
