Download DS demos via the Wii

During the Nintendo conference in October, the company confirmed that a new channel entitled Minna no Nintendo, which translates as 'Everybody's Nintendo', would soon be available on Wii.

There's no news on the US and European versions, but the channel did make its debut today in Japan and features trailers for upcoming games, interviews and commercials. Its main function, however, is that consumers will no longer have to make the trek down to the DS download stations dotted across the country because users are now able to download DS demos via their Wii.

The first batch of free Japanese content includes an interview with Nintendo designer Shigeru Miyamoto, a comprehensive list of upcoming Nintendo DS and Wii games, some video previews and demos of Namco Bandai's new Tamagotchi game, Brain Age 2, and a number ofTouch Generation games on DS.

A release date for the US and European channels is yet to be announced. Downloading Wii demos would be far more exciting though, come on Nintendo!

Need UK ETA! :P This does allow one to connect their DS directly to their Wii via WiFi, right?

Good luck downloading Wii demos with 512MB internal memory on the thing, though. Need a Wii HDD announcement first. ;)

Minna no Nintendo is Everybody's Nintendo, btw. ;)

Cheers Jim, yeah it's via WiFi, get in there!
Finally, I'll be able to share my Final Fantasy III Friend Code! :D
