Logitech Debuts New PlayStation®2 Line-up: More Options, New Power and Precision for Gamers

Logitech today announced a new range of products designed for both off-line and online gaming with the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system.
The Logitech Optical Mouse, from the company that has sold more than 400 million mice, features optical tracking technology for unmatched precision and speed, with no moving parts. The mouse can be used with either hand, while three buttons and a scroll wheel give expanded options for customization within a number of games. The USB Optical Mouse is now available on retail shelves around Europe, for £19.99.
The Logitech NetPlay™ Controller is a unique gaming device that combines a detachable USB keyboard with an officially-licenced vibration-feedback controller, in a contoured design that comfortably fits a gamer’s lap. It will give online gamers the best of both worlds, allowing them to use the gamepad to control the actions of a character and to type game commands or messages, without having to juggle two different devices. It has been available in Japan since May 2002 and will be available around Europe to coincide with the launch of network gaming for PlayStation®2, for a suggested retail price of €79.99.
Initial games supporting the NetPlay™ Controller include EverQuest® Online Adventures™ from Sony Online Entertainment and Final Fantasy® XI from Square.

The company will also launch a quality USB Keyboard for PlayStation®2, with a familiar keyboard layout and comfortable, quiet keys. The keyboard, especially ideal for gamers who chat online, features a compact design that sits easily on the lap or tabletop.to coincide with the launch of network gaming for Playstation 2, for £29.99.
All of these products include eight-foot connector cables, providing gamers the opportunity to kick back and play from a comfortable chair.
The Logitech® USB Headset for PlayStation®2 will also be launched around Europe to coincide with the launch of network gaming for Playstation 2. The product is expected to cost £39.99.
One of the first network games is expected to be SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. This game will include a Logitech headset and breaks new ground by providing gamers with a great game featuring command recognition and voice-over-IP functionality, plus a high-quality headset, in a single package.
The new retail USB headset allows gamers the opportunity to enjoy the same high level of headset performance and compatibility, with additional comfort and cosmetic features. The Logitech USB Headset features a digital USB audio processor and noise-canceling microphone for crystal-clear sound and high-quality voice input.
An adjustable headband and interchangeable earpads made of velvet, leatherette and foam provide exceptional comfort, especially for long gaming sessions. A convenient ten-foot audio cord is included, ensuring freedom to choose an ideal location to play.
