Developed by the Project Soul team, Soul Calibur V picks up 17 years after the events of the previous game with new heroes and returning warriors clashing in a predictable showdown between good and evil. The tale of Patroklos, son of Sophitia Alexandra, unfolds as his family’s destiny becomes entwined with the Soul swords.
Aside from the main campaign mode, there's a comprehensive tutorial allowing you to get to grips with all the moves, as well as an online component, Arcade, Quick Battle; VS Battle and CPU vs CPU in the Battle Theatre.
This latest iteration features improved character customisation and new gameplay features including the Critical Edge and Quick Move systems plus the new presence of master assassin Ezio Auditore de Firenze.
Now, we're not the best at fighting games, so the footage below won't showcase some of the best moves on offer. However, it should give you a flavour of what to expect and the individuality of some of the many characters on the roster.
The following footage was captured on Xbox 360 with the Hauppauge HD PVR Gaming Edition.
Soul Calibur V launches on February 3, 2011 on Xbox 360 and PS3. We'll have a full review shortly.
