Invite friends to join in...mmmm

Ascaron are currently remaining tight-lipped on the finer details of the quests we’ll face, but one that wasmentioned was when you head off to hunt for Goblins, with the mission to collect their hearts to make some tasty Goblin soup (I’d hazard a guess that this quest will mean you’re following the dark side). Yummy!

One of the things I’m most looking forward to playing is the multiplayer mode. Sacred 2 will support up to 6 people in the same game (that’s 3 Xbox’s with two people on each). You can invite a friend into the game to show them an area that you’ve found or you can team up with them to level up more quickly or to go on looting sprees with. The bad news is that if you unlock an achievement it will only be the host who gets the points, but multiplayer mode should be a good way to work together to unlock achievements, to explore or merely to enjoy going through the missions together.

The graphics in Sacred 2 are well worth a mention and with some intricate 3D modelling of characters, impressive shadow and lighting effects and some equally dramatic techniques used, such as volumetric fog, it's an immersive game world. Basically, this latter technique simulates the effect of localised fog and as you move through it moves around you and shifts out of the way, enhancing the atmosphere of the scene (think Michael Jackson’s Thriller video). Chamone...brothers!

The development of Sacred 2: Fallen Angel on Xbox 360 is currently 6 weeks behind the PC version, which is due for release in the first quarter of 2008. Ascaron have high hopes that the title will do extremely well and after what I’ve seen so far, and if it plays as good as it looks, it's in with a chance.

I’ll be bringing you a full review of Sacred 2: Fallen Angel in the coming months.

You can find out more about Sacred : Fallen Angel at the official site.
