Google has launched version 3 of its Chrome web browser. The release arrives just months after the debut of Google Chrome 2 in May and a little over a year since the Google browser first made its debut.
The first stable release of Chrome 3, available to download at Google.com/Chrome, arrives hot on the heels of 51 developer, 21 beta and 15 stable updates and 3,505 bugfixes in the past year, says Google.
Despite its relentless release schedule, the Google Chrome team is promising a handful of useful upgrades in the latest revision. Chrome 3 promises to improve Javascript performance by up to 25 per cent and includes a number of redesigns including a new-look tab page, a tweaked Omnibox (address bar), added support for themes and additional HTML5 capabilities.
All of the above may sound familiar to beta testers who've had their hands on Chrome 3 for some time now. Users partaking in Google's dev channel, meanwhile, are already putting version 4 through its paces.
