We found the manual to be excellent. It was written in English, although clearly converted from Korean as some of the grammar left a lot to be desired. That said the details and instructions make perfect sense. Great use is made of illustrations to explain connecting and configuring the headphones. We particularly like the paragraph that reads "Naturally engage the ears-near support parts of the back band to prevent your hairstyle from being messed".
As we are focusing on using the unit for computer gaming we followed the instructions for connecting the 2 jack plugs directly into the on board sound of our Shuttle SS51G. The light grey plug goes into the front speaker socket and the dark grey into the rear socket, simple.
The manual explains how to go into the windows sound setup and select 'Quadraphonic' or 4 speaker surround sound. Clearly the headphones can not fully compare to 5.1 surround as there is no sub woofer or centre speaker.
With wires connected we set about putting on the headphones. This is where things became very different. Firstly we discovered that the pictures on the box and manual of a guy wearing the headphones with the band behind his head, rather than the normal on top of the head, were not just him looking cool and casual but that that's how they should be used.
The ear pads have a loop of soft plastic which hooks over your ear and stops the headphones sliding down, this means that the band is not used to support any weight at all. Much as we would like to think that this design is to "prevent your hairstyle from being messed" it becomes obvious that it is designed that way so that the front and rear speakers over each ear sit in the right place.
There is very little weight to the headphones at 7.02oz (203g), but the hooks going over your ears did initially feel very uncomfortable. After half an hour or so, you soon become used to the feeling and they become very comfortable to wear.
