Size Counts

The box consists of the sub, 5 labelled satellites, a wired remote, 2 wall brackets, a power adapter, a composite video extension cable, and a composite audio to composite audio cable. I’m not entirely sure what the audio cable is for, but the video extender allows you to reach your TV and the subwoofer with a console composite cable, whose connectors usually have at most a few inches’ give in them.

The sub is certainly large. Compared to a CD, anyway:

The satellites retain the same styling of the sub, with the black-and-grey ‘pod’ design. They’re also pretty big compared to satellites like those on a set of Creative Labs Inspires:

The remote controls all operations of the speakers. Volume, Bass/treble, power, and mode all come from the same remote. There are also two headphone connectors on the bottom of the remote. This allows two people to deactivate the speakers and play silently should the need arise – the phone going in the front room for another house member, for example. The interface on the remote is simple enough to understand, and also allows access to a speaker test. More on this later.
