Looks

Ā

The actual unit looks and feels as if some time has been spent on it. 2 micro-titanium drivers are housed in a single speaker unit underneath the external facade. A blue LED, once in operation, shines through the little slot you can see in the middle. The above picture is within a centimetre of being life-size, so the unit is pretty diminutive.

Looking from the top of the unit, we have the volume controls at the bottom. These sandwich a switch which enables you to use either classic stereo sound or a pseudo wide surround sound. It actually works quite well at mimicking a larger soundstage.

At the top of the picture, going from left to right, we have the line-in socket (source), headphone pass-through socket, and 5v DC adapter should you wish to power it by the mains. The power on/off switch completes the array of controls.

To give you a firmer base, and to allow you to access the battery panel, the top half folds down to reveal the back.

As you can see, it simply swivels down. Creative claim an impressive 35 hours' worth of use from a set of batteries, 4 AAA being the ones used in this case. I must note that batteries are not included in the package, although that's something I feel that should have been to get you started in true portability fashion.

It's looks the part and has impressive uptime from a set of batteries. Let's delve into the official specifications and conduct a few basic listening tests.
