PRESS RELEASE

Berlin, Germany, 18th August, 2010 - skobbler, creator of the first free turn-by-turn sat nav app for the iPhone, has today announced the launch of skobbler navigation 3.0, a groundbreaking leap forward for the popular application. skobbler 3.0 is available for download now, for FREE, at the UK App Store.

Following an impressive 100,000 UK downloads since June, a resounding win in a lawsuit against former parent company Navigon and a fresh round of venture investment, skobbler has put its positive momentum to good use by further developing and significantly improving its free iPhone navigation app. As well as offering full compatibility with Apple's iOS4 firmware, skobbler 3.0 now delivers new levels of performance in a number of key areas.

Most visibly, skobbler has undergone a major user interface overhaul. Thanks to a fresh new look and feel, the system is clearer, easier and more accessible. In addition, skobbler 3.0 provides faster, easier routing thanks to an abundance of technical enhancements which significantly improve GPS positioning, performance and stability.

For ease of use, skobbler now includes Google local search which enables users to navigate to their place of choice with the tap of just one button, complementing the "traditional" address input. The iOS4 compatibility of skobbler also provides users with full access to their phone's features without having to exit the skobbler app, allowing them to carry out tasks, such as taking a hands-free call, with skobbler still running in the background.

"skobbler 3.0 builds on the company's reputation for developing a genuine alternative to costly and slow updating sat navs," says Marcus Thielking, co-founder of skobbler. "The improvements are a reaction to UK customer feedback and we are pleased that these measures make our navigation software even more user-friendly. In just 5 weeks, skobbler users can already benefit from several enhancements and our promise to our customers is that we will continue to deliver lightning-fast cycles of free updates with significant improvements." Thielking concludes, "We've really only just started. If we continue at this pace, just imagine what the future holds! I can't give too much away at the moment, but as great as it is, our 3.0 version of skobbler is just the tip of the iceberg. We will be making several other major announcements in the forthcoming weeks."

skobbler is a sat nav solution that empowers consumers to take matters into their own hands and make outdated and poorly detailed maps a thing of the past. It uses community maps from OpenStreetMap (OSM), the Wikipedia of maps that already has over 250,000 users worldwide dedicated to updating and creating the most detailed free map of the world. As a result, all users benefit from consistently updated maps without paying for expensive and already out-of-date updates.
