EC approval
The EC's investigation concerned the vertical links between SEN's activities in PBXs and the activities of some Gores portfolio companies in IT services, cordless handsets, stand-alone power supplies, and phase lock loops and hybrid line protectors. It found that the merger wouldn't create an anti-competitive environment in any of these areas.
The new company plans to begin launching new SEN products as soon as the deal goes through, which is expected to be by the end of this year. It may also acquire other technology platforms to capitalise on the SEN distribution organisation and drive the transition of the business from a hardware supplier to a software and service provider.
