Hi Scott

I have been following your story regarding the ASRock vs. Gigabyte feud.  You will recall it started with ASRock condemnation of Gigabyte's use of 2oz copper for environmental reasons. It then concluded that the ASRock P45 is cooler than Gigabytes P45, with or without Gigabyte's 2oz copper use. ASRock then backed up their claim with a slide and video testing the heat output of their boards.

They then followed this up with a mail to explain that "According to our test result, we found that ASRock P45 board's Vcore mosfet temperature (94.3 degrees Celsius) is much cooler than Gigabyte 2 OZ PCB design (125 degrees Celsius). It proves that the H/W design of ASRock P45 boards is much cooler when comparing to others."

Following this Gigabyte retorted with yet more slides to demonstrate their "Record FSB and DDR2 Frequency..."

It's at this point I do feel I should step in, but rather than send you a host of PowerPoint files about temperature of MSI P45 boards and our record breaking OC's (I do have them if you really insist), to request HEXUS actually run your own tests.

I'm so confident that MSI boards run cooler than any of our competitors' I'm willing to put MSI on the line against anyone who wishes to compete.  Here at MSI we are all very proud of our P45 Platinum solution with DrMos technology and truly believe it can run cooler than the equivalent competition.

Regardless the claim of ASRock that their VRM mosfet temperature is 94.3 degrees and that Gigabyte's, according to ASRock, is 125 degrees I believe the MSI P45 Platinum should be less.  There is no way I can test this for sure, but it's the best way in my opinion to show MSI have the best & coolest PWM solution using DrMos and we all stand behind our claims.

Let's settle this if anyone is willing to take the challenge against MSI.
