Rubbing it in
While chip rivals AMD and NVIDIA endure historical lows in their share price, Intel just keeps doing what it does best: turning over mountains of cash.
Its second quarter revenue of $9.5 billion was nine percent up on Q2 ’07 and yielded year-on-year rises in operating income of 67 percent, net income of 25 percent and earnings per share (EPS) of 27 percent.
Its revenue was slightly (two percent) down on Q1 ’08 but Intel’s efficiency drive appears to be paying dividends, literally, as operating income was up nine percent, net income up 11 percent and EPS up 12 percent on the previous quarter.
