Showing off
Infosecurity 2008 was roughly the size of one large hall at CeBIT. It has had its last year at Olympia, or so we’ve been told, and will move to Earl’s Court next year.
So here’s a quick snapshot of what you’ll be missing.
Obviously a lot of the big stands were taken up by the major plug-and-play security software companies like McAfee, Eset and so on. In fact Eset even brought its own robot-type-thing.
Some of the things that caught our eye were a bit off the beaten track, however. One was MXI Security, which had a finger print-protected flash drive with a whole PC installed on it, apparently.
Here’s what the marketing blurb says: With a complete PC installed on a Stealth MXP, a user can access their desktop from practically any PC or laptop, without fear of the consequences from data leakage if their PC is lost or stolen. In addition, Stealth MXP leaves no tell-tale traces on a host computer.
Apparently this 8GB device costs around £200.
