London, UK, 27 February 2008 – Buffalo Technology has today unveiled the TeraStation Pro II Rackmount™. The Network Attached Storage (NAS) unit is aimed at businesses who need to increase storage capacity without the expense of buying and installing additional servers. The rackmount model complements the existing range of desktop NAS devices.
Available in 1.0TB, 2.0TB and 4.0TB options, Buffalo’s TeraStation Pro II Rackmount™ is 2U high and will meet the needs of businesses with existing 19” rackmountable servers; enabling them to securely store large volumes of data in a locked cabinet.
The TeraStation Rackmount range delivers transfer speeds of up to 35MB/s, and is equipped with RAID 0, 1, 5, 10 and Standard to give businesses varying levels of redundancy and/or speed, depending on their individual requirements. It supports Active Directory integration, to allow the TeraStation Pro II Rackmount™ to utilise domain users and groups by working as a client member in an Active Directory domain.
Other key features include front-loading quick swap hard drive tray and LCD display, 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet port and Jumbo Frame capability, built-in FTP server functionality and two USB ports allowing external hard drives to be attached for back-up.
