Benchmarks: CPU
Only three of the systems in our line-up are available for under £900, and only two are outfitted with a stock-clocked CPU - DinoPC's Primal GT2 and the Vibox Defcon 2.
CPU performance understandably isn't anywhere near chart-topping, but it is competitive at the £899 price point, and the latest-generation Core i5-6500 can be deemed a reasonable step-up from the older Core i5-4590 powering the Vibox. The benefits of the Skylake architecture are most keenly felt in the Handbrake video-encoding benchmark, where the stock-clocked Core i5-6500 is almost able to catch machines powered by an overclocked Core i5-4690K.
