Memory Tests
The usual triplet of memory tests, covering overall performance using Pifast and specific aspect performance using Sciencemark.Whether using an AGP graphics card, or the on-board core that uses main system memory, the SB61G2 v3.0 is slightly slower than all its article competitors, using the same memory and processor.
Here's why.
It's 0.4GB/sec slower than the rest when using the AGP card, reducing the load on the memory controllers, and even slower when using the on-board VGA core, which is to be expected.
The drop in bandwidth is combined with a access latency penalty when going out to main memory. Both factors together will limit absolute performance from the SB61G2. While the deficit isn't huge, it's there and will rear its head in memory bound applications.
