Intel's Pentium 4 3.2GHz CPU isn't embarrassed when converting 607MB WAV files into 192kbit/s MP3s. AOpen's cube manages to equal the full-size EPoX's time again, and it does so with integrated graphics in use.
3.2GHz of Pentium 4 can't overcome 1.83GHz of AMD's K7 power?. Sometimes that's the case.
But sometimes the benchmarks swing the other way. We're far more interested in how the EZ18 compares with EPoX's board, really.
HEXUS' encoding test takes the first vob of Sleepy Hollow's DVD and uses the XviD CODEC for a 1-pass conversion. Bitrate is set to 1433kBit/s. We fully expect a P4 3.2GHz CPU to be a better media encoder than the Barton 2500+. We're pleased to see the EZ18 keep up with the EPoX's pace.
