The Seagate Hybrid Drive is also assisting overall performance. As is the case with most hybrid solutions, the 3.5in storage device features an 8GB pool of MLC NAND Flash that is used to cache frequently-used data. This works without any additional software layer or user intervention and speeds up common tasks such as booting the PC or loading applications. A hybrid drive is no match for a proper SSD, of course, but it bridges the gap between mechanical and solid-state and makes a lot of sense in a mid-range system such as the Magma A10.
