Peripheral components

Time to examine the peripheral system components.

The Logitech mouse and multimedia keyboard are wireless, continuing the clean and tidy theme of the system.

ViewSonic provide the display for the MESH Elite Extreme SLI. The model here is a VP2030b, part of ViewSonic's professional line of LCD displays. It has a thin bezel with no tinny speakers adding bloat. The native resolution is 1600x1200 and the 20.1" panel has a 300 nit brightness along with a 1000:1 contrast ratio and 8ms response time. Its resolution and spec. make it good enough for this system; 1600x1200 being the minimum you'd want to run two 7900 GTXs at.

Creative's Inspire T7900 7.1 speakers complete the system. Six channels have 6W RMS of power, with a 20W center speaker and 25W sub-woofer. The center speaker and two satellites also feature tweeters for more precise sounds at higher frequencies.

As we observed initially, the peripheral components blend well with the base unit. All of the components used are of a good quality and so the Elite Extreme SLI is well supported by its peripherals. It's also a fairly quiet system, too, considering the amount of grunt housed in the chassis.

The system ships with Microsoft MCE 2005 and Works 8.5. Further, a multitude of software is added via an agreement with CyberLink. More details on the bundle as soon as it's confirmed by MESH.

We're pleased to see that MESH backs up this particular SKU with a comprehensive 3-year onsite warranty. Too many times we've seen otherwise decent systems severely compromised by a poor warranty. Extra marks to MESH for not skimping on what we consider a necessity on a Ā£2,500 system, that is, 3-year onsite support.
