Introduction

MESH Matrix² CrossFire™ 1900/1600/1300 Systems Review

We had a chance to take a look at MESH Computers high-end FIRE CrossFire system a short while back. Featuring tasty components from AMD and ATI it was considered cutting edge for its time. The few months since its launch ATI has launch a revised core logic, the RD580, and faster graphics cards in the form of its X1900 series. MESH has taken these changes onboard and released a base unit that will appeal to the gamer with a healthy budget. Packing in an AMD Athlon 64 FX-60, an ASUS RD580 motherboard and Radeon X1900 XT 512MB cards in pre-configured CrossFire mode, it promises to be a belter of a system.

MESH is keen to stress that CrossFire isn't simply for the high end. To that end, it also sent us a couple of lower-priced configurations that took in ATI's Radeon X1300 Pro and X1600 Pro GPUs, again pre-configured in CrossFire mode.

Read on to see if we were suitably impressed with MESH's multi-GPU setups.
