Benchmarks II

I've decided to run the SK41G through our strenuous gaming benchmarks in both the on-board and R9700 scenarios. I know I'm being a little unfair in subjecting a mediocre on-board solution to a barrage of modern benchmarks, but it will tell us if it has any real 3D use. 3DMark starts off the proceedings.

The Savage on-board solution is no match for the complexity and stressful nature of 3DMark 2001SE. The 771 score is amongst the lowest I've seen as even the Shuttle and Intel XPCs managed to get around 1500 marks with their on-board video. The R9700 score, whilst being a whole lot better, is still some way off the top two here. If you want to see the individual breakdowns of the SK41G's scores, head here for the Savage's 771 and here for the Radeon's 12643.

Serious Sam 2 next. The demanding Valley Of The Jaguar Timedemo run at 1024x768x32 Normal preferences.

The trend continues here. Can it do any better in another demanding benchmark. Comanche 4 will certainly stress it to the limit.

The zero score attributed to the SK41G's on-board video simply indicates that the benchmark refused to run. A lack of suitable texture and lighting on the video card was cited as the reason why. The Radeon 9700's benchmark still falls a little way away from the desktop models.
