Benchmarks: Noise
The Raptor X79 OC is armed with a total of 10 fans (six in the chassis itself, two on the CPU, one in the graphics card and one in the power supply) and though under-load temperatures are good as a result, noise levels are slightly higher than we're comfortable with.
You can appreciate the noise levels in the 2D and 3D tests - the system understandably gets a bit louder when it's cooling hot-running components - but it's the idle noise level that's a concern. The Raptor X79 OC is one of the loudest PCs in the line up when it's doing nothing.
