Gaming

Gaming tests were carried out with onboard graphics. The Shuttle SD31P provides out-of-the-box DX9 support with the i945G's built-in Intel GMA 950 accelerator. We ran it alongside a GeForce 6200 TurboCache card with 32MB of onboard memory and, pertinently, against the GeForce 6150 GPU that's paired up to the nForce4 430 southbridge on Foxconn's C51 mainboard.

Onboard graphics performance with modern games is, shall we say, mediocre. Of course, you have the option of running virtually any single-slot-taking PCI-Express card currently available. GeForce 7800 GTX springs to mind. However, we'd recommend investing in an Athlon 64-based Shuttle XPC if gaming is at the top of your list of priorities.
