Analysis: system temperatures


Scan pumps 1.35V through the Core i7 950 chip to guarantee stability at 4GHz. The knock-on effect is that both idle and load system-wide temperatures are high. We're somewhat surprised that the Prolimatech cooler doesn't perform better here; perhaps this is a job for a Corsair H70?
But having a side-mounted blower and excellent airflow through the chassis and cards means that the GPUs are a touch cooler than in our single-card reference system.
