Notes

Scan's 6800 Ultra-equipped Chameleon goes up against the HEXUS system used for our GeForce 7800 GTX Preview. Please note that the final Chameleon will be offered with 7800 GTX and indeed the G70-based prototype is up and running as we speak, air-cooled, while Scan wait for the new cooling hardware. That brings up the issue of just what Chameleon models will be offered when it's complete.

Scan will offer a pair of Chameleons, one with water cooling and overclocked and one on air, running at stock frequencies. The overclocked, water-cooled version will be knows as the Cool Chameleon, for obvious reasons. So the system tested is representative of the kind of thing Scan will do with the Cool Chameleon, just with 6800 Ultra SLI rather than 7800 GTX SLI and the clock speeds for the system with FX-57 when overclocked are unset, although it's very likely Scan will aim for at least 3GHz when using Athlon FX-57.

The Chameleon clocks were set to 14 x 213MHz, giving 2983MHz, only a couple of notches on the HTT clock away from breaking 3GHz. So CPU speed is up and effective memory bandwidth is higher, too, compared to the HEXUS system run at stock clocks. Graphics clocks were set to 435/1130 for the Chameleon, 425/1100 (stock) for the HEXUS system.
