It seems we'll have to wait until Intel's 10nm before speeds in excess of 5GHz enter the fray, but in the meantime, the Core i9-9900K is the prime candidate for enthusiast gamers willing to spend big. Performance in single-thread scenarios is best-in-class, and the chip's eight-core, 16-thread composition bodes well for multi-threaded workloads.
