The Nofan A890S Silent Desktop hits a lot of the right notes with regards to CPU, memory and storage, but don't expect miracles in the graphics department. Quiet PC's most powerful passive option is an entry-level GTX 1050 Ti, which offers limited gaming potential as evidenced by a lowly 3DMark Time Spy score of 2,526. The passive cooler also struggles to maintain peak frequencies, hence the inability to pass the Time Spy Stress Test.
How do the synthetic results translate to real-world gaming? Well, there is scope for light gaming at the ubiquitous full-HD resolution. Most modern games will run just fine, though you may need to drop quality settings to medium or low to achieve playable framerates.
Highlighting the perils of passive cooling, our logs reveal that the GPU starts off at 1,658MHz but then throttles to around 1,531MHz as heat begins to build. You can game on the Quiet PC, but if gaming is your primary concern, there are far more capable solutions available at this price point.
